Support us this Giving Tuesday

Dec 01, 2025

At White Mountain Community Health Center, we are committed to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to essential healthcare—whether it’s primary care, dental care, sexual and reproductive health services, or behavioral healthcare—regardless of income or insurance status.

As we look ahead to 2026, we are facing a significant financial challenge. Federal and state funding has decreased by roughly $300,000, and further reductions to Medicaid, Medicare, and Marketplace plans are expected. Despite these setbacks, we remain committed to providing the care our patients rely on – but we cannot do it without your help.

If you believe in our mission and you have the financial means, please consider donating generously this year.

Over the past decade, our community has made tremendous progress. The percentage of uninsured people in Carroll County has dropped from 18% to 8%, allowing us to reinvest resources in critical areas such as adult dental care and substance use disorder treatment.

This progress is now at risk. Families and seniors are facing shrinking coverage options and rising costs. Marketplace premiums have jumped, enhanced subsidies have expired, and Medicare Advantage plans have left Carroll County. Medicaid eligibility will soon become more restrictive, with premiums, copays, and work requirements leading many to lose their coverage entirely.

As these changes unfold, many people in our community—including those living with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, mental health issues, and substance use disorders—are at risk of losing the coverage they rely on. Others will face higher out-of-pocket costs, potentially delaying care or forgoing it altogether unless there is a safety net in place.

Our sliding fee scale provides that safety net. Patients below the federal poverty level pay just $10 per visit—and we waive that if it’s a barrier. But as more people need this support, the strain on our organization grows. Each $10 visit represents $100–$300 in unreimbursed care, limiting our ability to maintain the programs our community depends on.

White Mountain Community Health Center has been here for nearly 25 years, ensuring access to care through times of uncertainty. In 2026, we will continue to care for everyone who needs us—insured or uninsured, able to pay or not. But to do so, we need our community to stand with us.

This year, we have set an ambitious but essential goal: to raise an additional $100,000 in community support. If you are able, we ask that you consider increasing your gift—perhaps even doubling it—to help us meet the moment. Every contribution, large or small, has a direct and immediate impact on sustaining care for thousands of your neighbors.

Thank you for your support and for believing in our mission. Together, we can ensure that White Mountain Community Health Center remains a lifeline for everyone in Mount Washington Valley who needs compassionate, accessible care.

With gratitude,
